Information tech consultant Infosys breaks ground on Indy education center

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A groundbreaking was conducted Friday for a new Infosys facility.

The $35 million education center for the information technology consultant company will be built on the site of the former Indianapolis International Airport terminal on the west side. The center will be 125,000 square feet.

The facility will be used to train the company’s U.S. employees and provide training programs for clients who want to “reskill” their own companies.

Gov. Eric Holcomb spoke at the groundbreaking.

The first phase of the center should be done in 2020. Infosys said it ultimately plans to have around 3,000 jobs in Indy.
