BioCrossroads awarded Lilly Endowment grant

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Charitable, educational and scientific activities at BioCrossroads will continue to be funded after a two-year grant from Lilly Endowment. The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership Foundation has received $2.9 million over a two-year period.

“The accelerated pace of science and technology is quickly changing the life sciences ecosystem in Indiana and across the globe,” said Patty Martin, president and CEO of BioCrossroads. “It’s critical for BioCrossroads to continue increasing our capacity for progress in this space through connecting collaborators, investing in innovative companies and educating Hoosiers about the importance of the life sciences to the state’s economy.”

BioCrossroads says the grant will allow it to focus on university engagement, tech and biotech convergence and to support new and existing programs, along with looking into the life sciences landscape.

“As the life sciences ecosystem continues to evolve, the road ahead will require even more engagement and creativity — ingredients that BioCrossroads is uniquely positioned to activate with the help of Lilly Endowment,” added Martin.

Lilly Endowment grants for BioCrossroads go to the CICP Foundation, which supports several other activities and programs of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, including launching AgriNovus Indiana and the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute.
