Boone EDC creates small business relief fund

LEBANON, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – In an effort to support local businesses impacted by COVID-19, the Boone County Economic Development Corp. has announced the creation of the Small Business Economic Relief Fund. The EDC says it has also launched a centralized hub as a county-wide resource.

According to a news release, the Small Business Economic Relief Fund is a three-part program for small businesses impacted by COVID-19 that offers financial relief and business support. The fund is being financially supported by the Boone EDC, Merrillville-based MonoSol and Indianapolis-based Allman Johnson CPAs.

“Our goal is to help Boone County businesses and our communities weather these difficult circumstances,” said executive director Molly Whitehead. “The creation of this fund allows us to show continued support for the small businesses that are crucial to our local economy.”

Additionally, Boone County small businesses affected by the COVID-19 economic downturn can apply for a $5,000 loan. The EDC says the relief fund will also connect selected businesses with advocacy support by providing small business marketing campaigns and one-on-one business plan guidance and support.
