LEBANON, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The Boone County Economic Development Corp. recently hosted the county’s inaugural Launch Night competition. Lebanon-based Klooz Brewz was named winner of the event and received a $2,500 cash grant for business services such as consulting, rent or website design.

Klooz Brewz is a craft brewery and locally-sourced, family micro kitchen. The EDC says the entrepreneurial pitching competition is focused on businesses that are just getting started and need mentorship support and feedback.

During the event, five participants presented their business ideas in front of local small business owners and community members to gain exposure and network.

Grace Truck from Zionsville, Maker Factory from Lebanon, McCormick Novelty from Advance and Zionsville Urban Farms from Zionsville also competed at Launch Night.

“The Boone EDC’s mission is to bring new businesses to Boone County and to help our existing businesses thrive – and this includes small businesses,” said Rachel Huser, economic development manager. “Especially during these trying times, we are excited to be able to partner with several small business owners to encourage their growth and provide valuable business assistance.”

Additionally, attendees voted for the Jackson Investment Group People’s Choice Award. Grace Truck received the cash prize award of over $600.
