CARMEL, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – A Carmel-based information technology service provider is joining the ranks of businesses like Patagonia and Ben and Jerry’s after receiving a B Corporation certification. GadellNet says the designation makes it one of only eight B Corp companies in Indiana and one of four in Missouri.

Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies that are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on workers, customers, community and the environment. The company, which provides technology and cybersecurity services, says the certification solidifies its dedication to giving back to the community and to the planet.

“It took us a few years in order to be ready for the B Corporation certification process,” a spokesperson for GadellNet said. “We had to shore up our giving strategy, our employee strategy and ensure we were doing the right things on behalf of our communities. We are excited to be a part of this community and have the 3rd party oversight to ensure we truly live our mission.”

Before becoming certified, GadellNet says businesses undergo a vetting process to verify standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability are being met.

B Corp is a nonprofit organization made up of more than 3,000 businesses in more than 70 countries.
