FISHERS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — The founder and chief executive officer of Fishers-based ClearObject is moving to a new role. John McDonald has joined the newly-established venture capital fund Boomerang Ventures, where he will serve as a venture partner.

McDonald has served as CEO of ClearObject since its founding in 2010. A spokesperson says he will continue as a consultant for the company using the title of Founder & Chief Evangelist.

Indianapolis-based Boomerang Ventures was founded in 2019. The fund says it “seeks to build companies while building the entrepreneurial ecosystem locally and beyond.”

“Many are already familiar with John’s work in leading the Technology and Innovation Policy Committee of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, as well as his role in starting and leading the Indiana Technology and Innovation Association, which serves to advocate for public policy and political action for the Technology industry” says Tom Kilcoyne, managing partner of Boomerang Ventures. “As a Venture Partner at Boomerang, he will now work to form new startup companies to help grow our industry here in Indiana and beyond.”

ClearObject has not indicated who will succeed McDonald as CEO.
