Company to expand Evansville location

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — Garage door parts and accessories manufacturer and distributor, Torsion Group Corp., plans to double its facility footprint in Evansville. The company will expand its manufacturing process and will add distribution and warehouse space, along with adding new jobs.

The company is based in Strongsville, Ohio and plans to invest over $4 million to add new equipment and to expand its current 28,880-square-foot facility to 57,500 square feet in the Vanderburgh Industrial Park.

“Evansville is perfectly centered in the Midwest where 80% of garage door OEM customers manufacture new doors,” said Joe Sitzman, vice president of operations and COO of Torsion Group Corp. “It is also geographically centered between Torsion Group’s distribution centers located in Ohio, Georgia, Wisconsin and Arizona which provides a competitive freight advantage for our customers.”

The company currently employs over 30 associates with immediate plans to add 18 more by 2025. The Vanderburgh County Council will consider an incentive package for the company, including a five-year tax phase-in on real estate improvements and personal property. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation also offered the group $100,000 in conditional tax credits based on job creation plans.
