COLUMBUS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — Cummins Inc (NYSE: CMI) and Isuzu Motors Ltd. have agreed to a global mid-range diesel powertrain agreement. The companies originally announced the partnership in 2019 and now are marking another step in the Isuzu Cummins Powertrain Partnership to develop new diesel and alternative powertrains to market globally.

The agreement calls for Cummins to provide Isuzu with mid-range B6.7 diesel platforms to use in medium-sized trucks, with the two companies working together to integrate the engine with Isuzu’s chassis, which they will introduce in North America this year.

The engines for trucks built in Japan will be assembled in Isuzu’s Tochigi, Japan plant.
