Elkhart company lands military contract

ELKHART, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a more than $7.7 million contract to Elkhart-based Transhield Inc. The three-year contract calls for production of tarpaulins and fitted vehicle covers for the U.S. Army and Navy.
Transhield makes custom fit covers for marine, military, and aviation applications, among others.
Work on the contract will take place in Indiana and is expected to be complete by September 18 of 2023.
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime in Columbus, Ohio is the contracting activity.
