Indy airport lands top ranking
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Travel + Leisure magazine has named Indianapolis International Airport the “Top Domestic Airport” as part of its 2020 World’s Best Awards Readers’ Survey. The Indianapolis Airport Authority says this is the airport’s fifth consecutive ranking in the top 10 and first time it has earned the top spot.
Survey respondents gave IND high marks in the categories of access, check-in and security, restaurants and bars, shopping, and design.
“This prestigious award affirms our continued commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and elevating the passenger experience to its highest level,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority board president Barbara Glass. “I commend all of our IND employees and business partners on their continuous efforts to deliver Hoosier hospitality and make ours a world-class airport.”
The airport says it has also been named Best Airport in North America by Airports Council International for eight consecutive years, Best Airport in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler six years running, and Best Airport in North America by J.D. Power twice.
IAA Executive Director Mario Rodriguez said, “The importance of this award could not be any greater than to come at a time when our employees have been challenged at an even greater level because of the coronavirus. They have continued to operate at the highest level of professionalism and customer service over these past trying months.”
