INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Indianapolis-based meeting management software platform Docket was named the winner of the Whale Watch Zoom App Marketplace Competition. The competition featured a top prize of up to $2 million in potential funding by Emergence Capital, Horizons Ventures, Maven Ventures, and Sequoia Capital.

The final round of the competition was held virtually last Friday. The 10 finalists presented one-minute video pitches of their product or service and fielded questions from event moderators and judges.

Docket says its software maximizes the time spent before, during and after meetings, allowing users to collaboratively create and share agendas, take notes, and share recaps and action-items.

Led by Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Darin Brown, Docket launched in January out of Indianapolis venture studio High Alpha. Prior to Docket, Brown was chief technology officer at Angie’s List and vice president at Salesforce and ExactTarget.

“As we’ve built onto the Zoom Marketplace, we’ve admired Zoom’s focus on providing thoughtful care to users and a strong, secure customer experience. It feels good to be recognized for that,” said Brown.

The competition was hosted by Zoom’s chief revenue officer, Ryan Azus, and Andre Iguodala, venture partner at Catalyst Fund, and the panel consisted of members from each of the four investment groups.
