Indy metro among ‘Best Places to Work in Tech’

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — The Indianapolis metropolitan area is ranked among the “Best Places to Work in Tech” by SmartAsset. The financial technology firm says the list was compiled based on metrics, including the percentage of workers employed in tech, the average salary for tech workers and cost of living.

The rankings were also determined based on the ratio of average tech salary to average salary across all fields, as well as the percentage of currently listed bachelor’s jobs that are in tech.

The Indy metro area, which is identified on the list as “Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson,” ranks 21st on the list with an Index score of 48.95 out of 100. The Orlando metro area tops the list, followed by Seattle, Raleigh, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Charlotte.

The methodology for the ranking changed from the previous year, which only ranked individual cities instead of metropolitan areas. Indianapolis was not ranked on the 2019 list.
