LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — Elkhart-based Lippert Components Inc. is expanding its footprint in northern Indiana. The company, which manufactures components for the recreational vehicle and manufactured housing industries, plans to establish operations in LaPorte County and create hundreds of jobs by 2022.

Officials in LaPorte County say the company will lease a “modest” manufacturing space and consider further expansion in the future. LCI did not specify how much it is investing in the move or precisely how many jobs will be created.

“While 2020 has been full of constant challenges, this great news ensures opportunities for citizens who will be future Lippert employees,” said Sheila Matias, president of the La Porte County Board of Commissioners. “As a collaborative partner with our business community, we stay focused on our mission to promote our county as a great place to do business and to raise a family. Our county’s workforce is second to none with a strong work ethic.”

LCI employs some 9,000 around the world. The company plans to begin hiring immediately and will hold a hiring event December 15 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time at the LaPorte County Civic Center.
