Indy moving company becomes Wheaton Moving & Storage

INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — A longtime Circle City moving company, Crown Moving & Storage, is changing its name to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Wheaton World Wide Moving, which was founded by Ernest Wheaton in Indianapolis as Clipper Van Lines. The company has been operated as Crown Moving & Storage for 60 years as it transitioned through several acquisitions, but will now be known as Wheaton Moving & Storage.

“We’ve been proud to share Mr. Wheaton’s reputation for excellence in moving services,” said Mark Russell, general manager of Wheaton Moving & Storage. “His legacy was a focus on the people and the families we serve, and day in and day out, we strive to embody that legacy.”

The company has 125 local employees working from its headquarters on the northeast side of Indianapolis and owns five household goods relocation brands, including Wheaton World Wide Moving, Bekins Van Lines, Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, Arpin Van Lines and Clark & Reid.

“We’ve been fortunate to have such a dedicated moving team at Wheaton Moving & Storage to serve customers in our backyard,” said A.J. Schneider, executive vice president of The Wheaton Group. “We look forward to the next sixty years’ association with this stellar team.”
