COLUMBUS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Columbus-based Precise Tooling Solutions has created a mobile barrier designed to prevent transmission of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The manufacturer says ViralBarrier can be adapted to school settings from kindergarten through college.

The company says it developed ViralBarrier with design input from educators. The barrier was created to ensure safe social distancing regardless if a person is standing or sitting. The company adds it can also be easily sanitized.

“We are proud to bring this unique ViralBarrier to schools so they can get back to doing what they do best, which is educating our next generation of leaders,” said Don Dumoulin, chief executive officer of Precise Tooling Solutions. “We hope to help keep instructors, students and staff healthy as schools reopen in a few weeks.”

Precise Tooling says ViralBarrier is fully mobile and can be moved easily with one hand. It features a shatterproof polycarbonate screen described as “clear as polished glass” and an optional mid-level shelf for digital devices and instructional aids.

The company says it can produce a ViralBarrier within 15-20 days.
