Professional services firm growing in central Indiana

CARMEL, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — A Carmel-based professional services firm has announced plans to expand its central Indiana operations. Milestone Business Solutions Inc., which has operated remotely since it was founded last year, plans to invest more than $170,000 to establish and equip a new central Indiana location and create up to 53 jobs by the end of 2025.

Milestone provides outsourced accounting and human resources services to startup and scale-up companies.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says Milestone has already hired 13 employees toward its goal. The company is looking to fill a variety of positions such as staff accountants, controllers, chief financial officers and human resources specialists, among others.

“We have a vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurial companies in Indiana, as well as access to top talent,” said Tom Gabbert, founder chief executive officer of Milestone Business Solutions. “Over the years, I have experienced firsthand how companies across the country are drawn to the work ethic and positive attitude of Hoosiers. I believe we can build a largely Indiana-based team with a national focus and operate with a competitive advantage.”

Milestone says it will continue to work remotely through the rest of this year and begin looking for a new, physical location in 2022. The company plans to allow employees to continue to work remotely if they wish, while also having access to training and collaboration facilities.

The IEDC has offered Milestone up to $800,000 in conditional tax credits, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.
