RICHMOND, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Reid Health will Wednesday open a second respiratory clinic in Connersville, located within its existing urgent care facility. The health network says the decision is in response to the ongoing COVID-19 emergency and is only for people with respiratory illness.
Reid says the new clinic will operate much like the first temporary clinic in Richmond.
“This location will allow us to continue to assess respiratory illnesses, which in the current environment could likely be the COVID-19 virus,” said Dr. Bradley Dubois, the Reid Health physician who will see clinic patients in Connersville.
Reid says nasal swab testing will not be offered and services are by appointment only. According to the health network, nasal swab testing capability remains limited and reserved for the severely ill.
By establishing the new clinic, Reid says it will take pressure off emergency departments in Richmond and Connersville. For added safety, the clinic will not have a waiting room. Patients are being directed to wait in their cars.
