Software company helping Department of Defense
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — A Purdue University-affiliated company’s work will be utilized by the Department of Defense to manage digital assets to ultimately protect the country. Imaginestics LLC, a software company headquartered at Purdue Research Park, has been awarded a one-year contract from the U.S. Army’s Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
The company’s VizSeek search technology will be used by the Army’s data management team to scan and extract data from engineering drawings and paper blueprints for legacy parts, which were created before digital design. The Redstone Arsenal is working with the University of Alabama in Huntsville to create a database that can be searched by text, attribute, geometry or a combination of all three.
“We are very pleased to be working on this project,” said Jamie Tan, CEO of Imaginestics. “When there is a critical need to identify a replacement part, this can now be done in seconds instead of hours. The benefit to military personnel at the base and in the field is very significant.”
The exact value of the contract was not disclosed, but the company says it is in the six-figures.
