Supportive housing project set to open in Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — Indianapolis-based real estate development company TWG will Wednesday cut the ribbon on a new permanent supportive housing complex in Indy. Pando Aspen Grove of Community Heights was developed to support young adults who were previously part of Indiana’s child welfare and fostering system.
TWG says Pando is the first modular multi-family development in the state and features 30 one-bedroom units. The complex is owned by Lutheran Child & Family Services, also based in Indy and the development was completed in conjunction with the Indiana Housing Authority.
Residents at Pando will have access to an on-site food pantry, educational and employment resources, healthcare and legal aid, and other support resources such as budgeting and financial management lessons.
“The young adults in our foster system deserve the safety of shelter, the access to ample resources and the security of knowing at the end of the day, they have a place to call home,” John Sullivan, vice president of tax credit development at TWG, said in a news release. “It’s been an honor to partner with Lutheran Child & Family Services to bring this project to fruition. We are thankful for their leadership, guidance and compassion in making Pando Aspen Grove a new home for our Hoosier youth.”
The project was funded through the 4% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and $9.2 million provided by the state.
