INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) – Indianapolis-based clinical asset management company TRIMEDX is partnering with a cybersecurity education and workforce development company in Virginia. The collaboration with CyberVista involves a comprehensive cybersecurity training program focused on addressing the threat of cyberattacks on connected medical devices.

The CE CYBER Academy aims to train TRIMEDX’s more than 3,100 associates with cybersecurity skills. TRIMEDX Chief Marketing Officer LeAnne Hester says the training is a response unprecedented demand for cybersecurity expertise from health systems.

“By 2025, it is estimated that 68% of medical devices will connect to provider networks making it crucial for health systems to have the ability to accurately track connected medical devices, have accurate information on the operating system and respond to impacted medical devices,” said Hester, “As a result of this trend, there is a need for clinical engineering and information technology teams to work together in completely different way.”

TRIMEDX and CyberVista have created curriculum designed specifically for on-site technical personnel. The academy will provide associates continuing professional development and resources through modules in its learning management system, including a knowledge assessment.
