INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — A Washington D.C.-based contract packaging and manufacturing company has opened a new facility in Indianapolis. Truvant says it is investing more than $12 million in the 244,000-square-foot facility and adding more than 250 jobs over the next several years.

Truvant says the facility, located about a half mile away from Indianapolis International Airport, will support a wide range of scalable contract packaging, contract manufacturing and supply chain services. The company says the facility will allow for kitting, fulfillment, assembly, bundling, shrink wrapping, liquid blending, pouching, blister packaging and e-commerce fulfillment, among other capabilities.

Indianapolis was chosen because of its central location, which Truvant says will allow it to serve 75% of customers in North America in less than 24 hours.

“The strategic location of the Indianapolis site will enable us to expand our reach to create a stronger manufacturing network across the U.S.,” Scott Lamb, chief executive officer of Truvant, said in a news release. “We are now better equipped than ever to help current and future customers get their products to both retailers and consumers directly in the most efficient way.”

The new plant brings Truvant’s operational footprint to 15 facilities around the world.
