Virtual career fair set for Hamilton County
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The Hamilton County Workforce Recovery Task Force and the Hamilton County Workforce Innovation Network will Thursday host a virtual career fair. The organizations say the fair is specifically designed for people considering a career change or skill up opportunity for candidates who have been displaced by the pandemic.
The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“There has really never been a better time to make a career change or to skill-up,” said Robert Kneberg, executive director of HCWIN. “Federal funding is currently available to help offset the cost of earning new certifications, learning new skills, and ultimately finding a new career.”
Organizers say many Hamilton County employers have high-paying, in-demand positions available and will provide classes, training or apprenticeships required to retrain or secure a new degree, credential, or certification.
“The eligibility for training funds under the Rapid Recovery program, Next Level Jobs (Workforce Ready Grants) has been expanded,” said Ed Miller, business services for Hamilton County Work One. “Hoosiers with existing degrees are able to access these training funds for qualifying high-value certificates through at least the end of the year.”
