Voting open for best of Indiana lakes, doughnut shops, unique sleeps

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Visit Indiana’s 2020 Best of Indiana people’s choice campaign is underway. The organization says voters will decide which of their favorite Indiana lakes, doughnut shops and “unique sleeps” are the year’s best.

Visit Indiana says each of the three categories includes 20 places to choose from. Voting is scheduled to end November 2, and the winners will be announced shortly thereafter.

The contest features statewide destinations such as Indiana Dunes National Park and Indiana Dunes State Park, Rise’n Roll Bakery & Deli, and Patoka Lake Winery Silo Suites, among others.

“One of the best things about voting in this campaign is you get to learn about incredible locations you might not have known about,” said Misty Weisenstiner, director of Visit Indiana.

Last year, Visit Indiana says Hoosiers voted for the state’s best brewery, hiking trail and Main Street. Winners included Bad Dad Brewing Co. in Fairmount, the Ladders Trail at Turkey Run State Park in Parke County, and the city of Franklin.
