Zoobilation 2020 canceled

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – The Indianapolis Zoo has canceled one of the largest fundraising events in the city. The zoo says the decision to cancel the Zoobilation 2020 event is an effort to support the health and safety of the community.

The zoo says it is looking ahead to next year’s Zoobilation, scheduled for June 11, 2021.

“We are truly grateful for the support of our community and we want to thank everyone for caring about the Zoo!” The zoo said in a statement.

We'll miss sharing Zoobilation – Indianapolis Zoo with you this year. But we're already looking ahead to 2021 when we can celebrate & support wild things & wild places!

The zoo says proceeds from the event help fund the care of the its nearly 1,300 animals and 47,000 plants as well as its global conservation initiatives. This year’s event was estimated to bring in $2.5 million.
