UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people who were found dead at a home in the 1000 block of Waldemere Avenue as German Orantes, 21, and Rossy Medina, 19.

The coroner’s office says both Orantes and Medina were shot.

The investigation into their deaths is ongoing.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating after a man and a woman were found dead on the city’s west side.

According to IMPD, officers found a man and a woman deceased after responding around 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Waldemere Avenue, near West Washington Street and Mickley Avenue.

The incident was initially treated as a death investigation but police on Saturday afternoon were calling it a double homicide investigation.

Police on Saturday were not releasing whether a third party was involved but are seeking information about what led up to the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call IMPD Detective Smalley at 317-327-3618 or Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 317-262-TIPS.

No information about the identity of the victims was immediately available.
