ISP chase speeding car through 3 counties

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police chase speeding car through three counties before the driver stopped on Thursday afternoon.

Indiana State Police reported a man driving a Nissan passenger car on eastbound I-74 at approximately 12:30 p.m. When police clocked him with their VASCAR timing device, the driver was speeding at 100 miles per hour.

Police reported that they were not able to catch up to the speeding Nissan for another 17 miles, three counties later.

ISP were only then able to initiate a traffic stop.

The VASCAR showed that the Nissan’s average speed was about 108 mph, which police say that the car could’ve reached speeds of 120 mph or more during their pursuit.

The driver, identified as Eric King, 43, of Stout, Ohio, was cited for reckless driving in the Vermillion County Superior Court.
