ISP: Intoxicated driver crashes vehicle on I-70 in Morgan County
MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police arrested a woman on Sunday night after she crashed her vehicle on Interstate 70.
ISP said the single vehicle crash happened on westbound I-70 near the 52 mile marker around 8:50 p.m. According to the preliminary investigation, a 1994 Pontiac was traveling westbound on I-70 when the driver, 49-year-old Candice Cooper, lost control of her vehicle.
Cooper appeared to be intoxicated and gave police a false name at the scene, police said.
ISP also found that Cooper had pharmaceutical drugs without a prescription in her vehicle.
Cooper was booked in the Morgan County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance, false identity statement and operating while intoxicated-controlled substance. She was also cited for driving without a valid licence.
Cooper was not injured in the crash.
