INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police have arrested a man who they believe fired shots at a mother and three children while she was driving on Interstate 465.

Indiana State Police have arrested 27-year-old Randy Arias of Indianapolis.

Police say Arias fired shots at a vehicle driven by a woman who had three kids in the vehicle.

Police say it happened in the early morning hours of Jan. 28 on I-465 near 56th Street.

No one was injured in the shooting.

According to court documents, the victim was driving home from a softball tournament when she saw a vehicle crash. She called 911 as the driver began to continue after the crash.

Two more vehicles stopped as well. That’s when the victim says a man emerged from the crashed vehicle and began firing shots.

Police say they eventually used DNA to connect Arias to the crash.

He faces four felony counts of criminal recklessness in the case.
