ISP: Patient located at hospital following I-465 crash, search

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A search for a crash victim has been called off after the patient checked themselves into a local hospital.

The crash occurred just before 9:00 p.m. Wednesday on I-465 just south of I-65.

ISP confirms that after locating the vehicle, a blood trail was found but not a patient.

The Pike Township Fire Department also aided in the search with night vision equipment.

Sometime before 10:15 p.m., the search was called off when investigators learned the patient was at a local hospital. ISP is currently unsure how the patient got there.

Southbound lanes were closed following the crash but were open again around 10:15 p.m.
