IU, Notre Dame open NCAA play with victories

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — IU and Notre Dame opened NCAA tournament baseball play with road victories in the double elimination format.

The Hoosiers rolled past Radford 7-1 in Nashville behind a fine pitching performance from Kyle Hart, and a two-run homer from Craig Dedelow from Muenster, Indiana. The Hoosiers advance to a winners bracket game in Tennessee Saturday night at 8pm.

Notre Dame used the long ball to crush Wright State 13-7 in Champaign, Illinois.

The Fightin’ Irish clubbed four homeruns and 16 hits to ease past the Raiders. ND will also play in their winners’ bracket game at 8pm Saturday night.
