FORT WAYNE and WARSAW, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Ivy Tech Community College’s campuses in Fort Wayne and Warsaw have officially launched the Career Coaching and Employer Connections program. Ivy Tech says it developed the CCEC program to bring career development and employer outreach together to meet the needs of the workforce.
The program’s strategic approach will emphasize career readiness practices working alongside academic preparation throughout a student’s college experience.
“We are excited about implementing a program that equips students with knowledge and career readiness skills needed to thrive in the workplace,” said Joe McMichael, Executive Director of Career Coaching and Employer Connections at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne/Warsaw. “Our Ivy Tech Fort Wayne/Warsaw graduates will leave prepared to attain meaningful careers, which will ultimately enhance the Hoosier workforce and strengthen communities across our service area.”
The college says it will roll out the new model through a phased approach over four years. The first phase began last fall with six campuses, including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend and Elkhart, Kokomo, Sellersburg, and Madison.
The college says the program will start in August.
