Junior League donates socks to women, kids at Julian Center
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Junior League of Indianapolis spread some love this Valentine’s Day.
It donated more than 120 pairs of socks to the Julian Center.
Leaders of the Junior League of Indianapolis said they donate socks because they are a basic need for women and children.
Junior League members collected the socks through a fundraiser where they asked shoppers to buy a pair of socks, then the Junior League matched that with another pair for the community.
“Anything that we can do to really help these women and children that come into the shelter with maybe nothing and if we can give them a basic need and something that will keep them warm. And they’re kinda fun too,” said Stacy Payne Miller with the Junior League of Indianapolis.
The Junior League of Indianapolis has donated about 600 pairs of socks to the Julian Center over the past year.
