MORRISTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — Officials in Shelby County have made an arrest following the vandalization of a historic cemetery in Morristown.
The Morristown Police Department said in an Instagram post that they have arrested one juvenile and another arrest may be forthcoming after 22 headstones at the Davis-Bennet Cemetery were destructed.
Police said the damage took place between August 5 and 12.
Officials are unsure how much the damages amount to. The Greenfield Granite Company has volunteered to repair the damage stones and repairs are restoration to the stones are expected to continue for at least a week.
