SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Authorities are investigating after a body was found in a river near Shelbyville.

Many people in Shelbyville are wondering if the body is that of missing 38-year-old Christopher Young. Shelbyville Police told us they were looking for him back on Nov. 7. Since then, many in the community have come together to support his family and help with the search efforts.

Now they are waiting for answers.

“I was hoping and praying it wasn’t the guy who was missing and I still hope it is not because he has kids at home that cry every night waiting for him to come through the door,” said on Shelbyville resident who asked not to be identified. “I live about six blocks from the Big Blue River, so hopefully it is not him, but if it is at least we have closure.”

At this point there’s no word on if the body found is that of Christopher Young or not. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
