Kidney walk raises $120K for research

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The 2015 Indianapolis Kidney Walk took place on Saturday downtown.

The event raised $120,000 and had many supporters show up to walk for research funding.

It’s estimated that 1 in every 3 Americans are at risk for developing kidney disease. The cases of high blood pressure and diabetes is on the rise and those numbers could get worse.

WISH-TV partnered with the Kidney Foundation to help change this trend by raising awareness about the causes, prevention and treatment of kidney disease.
