Lafayette park bans teens for dunking child with special needs

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — On Wednesday, police responded to a call from Tropicanoe Cove lifeguards.

They wanted four teens and one man removed from the park.

The incident started when the four teens reportedly dunked a child with special needs.

That child’s brother, 21, confronted the teens about the matter. Police were called shortly after.

Lafayette Lt. Matt Gard said everyone involved is banned from Lafayette parks for one year except for the 8-year-old dunking victim.

Police said if those who are banned show up to a Lafayette park, they will be arrested.

We are unable to name the four teens in this story due to their ages.
