Large power outage hits Kokomo, points south
UPDATE
Power to Duke Energy customers in Kokomo and points south was restored by 5:50 p.m. Wednesday after a substation was tripped. The cause has not yet been determined, said Duke spokeswoman Angeline Protogere.

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — More than 12,000 customers of Duke Energy were expected to be without power through 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to an online outage map.
The outage covers portions of Kokomo and extends into Clinton, Howard and Tipton counties.
Duke Energy was not immediately able to report the cause of the outage.
Indiana University-Kokomo sent a tweet to suspend classes for Wednesday night as a result of the outage.
