Milder Sunday, rain returns Monday

Sunday morning forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another nice day to close out the weekend. Steady showers move back in to start off the week.

Today:

Should be another fantastic weekend day! Expect a bit more in the way of cloud cover compared to Saturday, but overall really nice. Highs top out in the lower to middle 50s this afternoon.

Tonight:

Clouds will increase this evening ahead of our next storm system. We’ll likely see rain arriving to our southern counties after Midnight, and that will expand across much of the state as we draw closer to daybreak.

Lows fall to the upper 30s overight.

Monday:

Wet day on tap from start to finish, as a slow moving system moves in from the southwest. Expect scattered showers for much of the day and into the evening hours, before gradually tapering off overnight Monday into Tuesday morning.

Rainfall amounts for Monday will likely range between 1/4″ – 1/2″ across the area with locally higher amounts.

Highs top out in the middle 40s.

8 day forecast:

Monday’s system stalls out for Tuesday, sending steady rain to the north. We’ll likely still be under a thick blanket of cloud cover, and with that, a few light showers from time to time will be possible. On Wednesday, system will finally push through the area, bringing rain Wednesday morning, which will quickly changeover to light snow. Little to no accumulation is expected. Sharply colder temperatures will settle in to wrap up the week.
