Rain, colder temperatures are on way

Monday evening forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Prepare for an active week of weather with rain, snow and colder conditions by midweek. 

Monday night:

It will be breezy, cloudy and mild. Enjoy comfortable conditions as temperatures hold steady in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Isolated showers will develop overnight and will continue into Tuesday.


Tuesday: 

A cold front will move across the state bringing scattered rain showers and gusty winds to the forecast.

Temperatures will slowly fall throughout the day from the 50s down into the 30s Tuesday night.

Tuesday night: 

As temperatures fall, rain will transition to a wintry mix. Expect a breezy, damp and colder night as temperatures fall to the low 30s.


Wednesday: 

We’ll start the day with scattered rain and snow showers. Temperatures will warm slightly in the afternoon; expect afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

As colder air sinks into the state at night, the light wintry mix will transition to snow. Freezing rain remains a threat for areas mainly north of interstate 70.

Snow flurries will fly for your Thursday morning commute. Prepare for mostly cloudy skies with chilly conditions. Scattered snow flurries will linger into the Friday morning commute. Clouds will stick around for much of next weekend with slightly warmer conditions expected Sunday.
