Light snow accumulation possible Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Snow showers return to central Indiana Sunday. Much colder temperatures move in later tonight.

Today:

Another blast of winter weather invades central Indiana to close out the weekend. Expect snow showers to arrive by mid-morning, and fill in across the state through midday into the afternoon.

1″-2″ of snow accumulation is expected, with isolated higher amounts possible.

Meanwhile, temperatures will hold steady, if not fall gradually throughout the day.

Tonight:

Brutal cold settles in following our Sunday snow. Under a clear sky, temperatures will likely fall to the single digits across most of central Indiana. Wind chills will likely hover around 0°, if not below for the early morning hours of Monday.

Monday:

Sunny and cold day on tap. Highs only hit the upper teens and lower 20s across the area.

8-day forecast:

Quiet first half of the week, as the arctic air hovers through Wednesday. A couple of systems sliding in the for the second half of the week into the weekend provide a rain/snow mix for Thursday and Friday, and all rain for Saturday. We should see temperatures start to climb out of the basement starting Friday, returning to the 40s and possibly 50s by the end of the weekend.
