Local church’s festival celebrates 78 years

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The 78th annual St. Christopher Catholic Church Festival kicks off Thursday night.

There will be carnival rides, food, bingo, games for kids, live entertainment and more.

Organizers say the three day event is famous in Indianapolis and has the nickname “The Festival That’s Tops in Food.” Several food options including fish sandwiches, hand-pulled pork barbeque and authentic Filipino cuisine will be on hand.

Proceeds from the event will be used to repair and maintain the campus and go towards helping the community by replenishing the St. Christopher food bank. Their goal is to raise two-tons of food for the community.

The festival starts at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and noon on Saturday. The event is free.
