1 arrested in Kokomo shooting, robbery

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) – One person has been arrested in a Kokomo shooting and robbery.

According to the Kokomo Police Department, just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 18, officers responded to the 600 block of Southlea Drive for a reported shooting.

After arriving on the scene, officers located the victim, 20-year-old Keegan Nussbaum. Nussbaum was found to be suffering from a gunshot to the leg, according to police.

Nussbaum was transported to an Indianapolis hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police say.

In addition to being shot, Nussbaum told officers that he had been robbed by two individuals. A short time later, offices were able to identify and arrest one of the suspects, 20-year-old Kobe Beard.

Beard, who was transported to the Howard County Criminal Justice Center, faces a number of preliminary charges, including robbery, dealing marijuana, aggravated battery, criminal recklessness and a body attachment.
