1 dead after crash on I-65 in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 65 in Columbus on Sunday night.

The Columbus Police Department said a single-vehicle crash happened just before 10 p.m. near the 65 mile marker. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office said 36-year-old Demetrius Burnam of Seymour died in the crash. His cause of death has been ruled as blunt force trauma.

A toxicology test has been ordered by the coroner.

Crash reconstructionists are working on the case.
