2 arrested after Lawrence bank robbery

LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) – Two people have been taken into custody following a Tuesday morning bank robbery in Lawrence.

According to the Lawrence Police Department, the two suspects entered the Huntington Bank in the 11800 block of Pendleton Pike just after 9:30 a.m. After threatening to harm bank employees, the suspects demanded cash.

Police say that after obtaining the undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the bank in a stolen Acura. Soon after making their getaway in the stolen car, the suspects switched vehicles, getting into a maroon Dodge Charger.

A short chase then ensued as the suspects attempted to flee from officers, going south on Mitthoeffer Road and into a neighborhood on 42nd Street. It was there that both suspects ran from the vehicle, but were both quickly apprehended in the 4300 block of Baker Drive, according to police. 

The suspects have been identified as 34-year-old Dejon Pitchford and 28-year-old Daniel Reynolds. Both face a number of preliminary charges, including robbery, confinement and auto theft.
