2 high school students dead, 1 injured in Tippecanoe County crash

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Two high school students died and another was injured in a Wednesday morning Tippecanoe County crash, authorities say.

About 8:15 a.m., deputies were called to Lovetree Lane and 100 North. That’s in the far eastern part of the county. The victims of the crash have not been identified, but authorities say the three were identified as Harrison High School students. Their IDs have not yet been released.

According to Lt. Brian Lowe, a car with the three juveniles inside hit a tree. When deputies arrived, two victims were found inside the car and another was outside. Capt. Rob Hainje said the two people inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The injured juvenile was taken to IU Hospital in Lafayette to be treated for injuries.

Deputies closed a part of County Road 100 North as crews worked to reconstruct what happened.

The sheriff’s office has closed 100 North from 675 East to 775 East.
