2 injured, 1 critically in Beech Grove house fire

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) – One person was in critical condition following a Friday morning house fire in Beech Grove, according to the Beech Grove Police Department.

Just before 6:30 a.m., crews were called to a house on South Fourth Street for a fire with possible entrapment.

Police said a man was out walking his dog when his wife alerted him to the fire inside their house.

The department said the man and some neighbors attempted to rescue her. However, they were unsuccessful. Firefighters got her out of the house.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The man was also taken to the hospital for burns to his face.

Police also said three cats died in the fire.
