3 people sent to hospital after 4-vehicle crash

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Three people were sent to the hospital after a 4-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

According to police, the crash happened on the 4800 block of East State Street around 3:35 p.m.

The 4-vehicle crash included:

  • A maroon 1999 Pontiac Bonneville, driven by Ryan Mitchell, 18 of Dupont, IN
  • A white 2011 Kia Forte, driven by Floyd Smith, 58 of North Vernon, IN
  • A blue 2011 Toyota RAV-4, driven by Kevin Wiley, 41 of Holton, IN
  • A green 2000 Honda Accord, driven by Olivia Pavy, 19 of Bloomington, IN

Police said the driver of the Pontiac crossed the center line causing the driver side of his vehicle to collide with the driver side of the westbound Kia.

The crash caused the Kia to spin into the path of the Toyota.

The Honda, which was traveling westbound, was struck by the Pontiac as it passed.

Smith, Wiley and a passenger in the Kia, Jacob Cockerman, 30 of North Vernon, had injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Mitchell and Pavy were not harmed and refused treatment at the scene.
