4 in custody after multicounty chase

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department chased burglary suspects for more than 50 miles through four counties on I-65 early Monday morning.

Officers arriving to a burglary call on the northeast side of Indianapolis saw a car leaving the scene near the Sahm Golf Course and chased the suspects when they fled as officers arrived.

The driver of that car refused to stop for officers, drove onto the highway, and then kept driving south where officers chased those suspects for more than 50 miles through four counties on I-65 before the suspect’s vehicle was brought to a stop by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office deputy using stop sticks to disable the car.

No one was hurt during the chase, and no other cars or property damaged. Officers took all four into custody and had the car towed away by 4 a.m.
