HOBBS, Ind. (WISH) — A semitractor-trailer driver died Thursday afternoon after a tire blew and the vehicle hit trees, Indiana State Police said.

Tipton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the crash shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday on State Road 213 near County Road 300 South. That’s in southeastern Tipton County about a mile south of the community of Hobbs.

John Henderson, 49, of Atlanta, Indiana, was pulling a loaded grain trailer with the Mack semitractor when the front passenger wheel burst, causing the semi to leave the road, hit two trees and ejected him, state police said in a news release. He died at the scene of the crash.
