American Red Cross in need of blood drive hosts

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The American Red Cross is in dire need of blood drive hosts so there’s a continuous supply of blood in hospitals during the pandemic.

About 80% of blood donations are hosted by businesses, schools and community organizations and many are still closed. The blood drive says you can sign to be a host redcrossblood.org.

They’re looking for volunteers for the upcoming blood drives. It is required to sign up to donate blood.

The next blood drive in Indianapolis is Friday, Aug. 14 at the Red Cross Office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1510 North Meridian as well as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is also another blood drive on Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Red Cross office.
